Heavy Transport Across an Active Urban Highway

The reconstruction of the Beresteiskyi (formerly Shuliavskyi) Interchange required the relocation of a preassembled bridge section within one of Kyiv’s busiest transport corridors. The operation demanded carefully coordinated lifting and transport activities while working within the constraints of an active urban infrastructure project.

We executed the heavy transport scope, safely moving the bridge section from its assembly location to its permanent position.

Hydraulic Jacking and SPMT Transport

Load distribution beams were installed beneath the bridge section together with step jacking systems positioned under the portal beams. The bridge structure was raised to its transport elevation before two 12-line self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT) configurations were positioned beneath the span. After transferring the load onto the transporters, the portal beams were secured using engineered restraint systems, allowing the bridge section to be transported across the highway and accurately positioned at its final location.

Successfully relocated a preassembled bridge section using synchronized hydraulic lifting and SPMT transport within one of Kyiv's most complex urban infrastructure projects.
